The Erie Insurance Arena has undergone a major facelift over the past few years. The building has received a $48 million renovation which saw the Otters receive a new locker room, weight room, trainer’s facilities, players’ lounge, coach’s offices, players change room and personal lockers, showers, laundry area and storage facilities. The entire facility underwent a cosmetic makeover in which the bowl was remodeled, new seats were installed, 13 new suites and a new Club Level Lounge were also added. The Erie Insurance Arena now seats 6,800 and had the final piece of the renovation installed when an HD video board worth $1.8 million was added.
In 2020, the Erie Insurance Arena underwent yet another renovation worth $12 million, which included further upgrades to the Club Level, new offices and a designated team store for the Otters. In 2025, the Otters opened up a new 2,000 square foot weight room with a shooting pad.
The Erie Insurance Arena is a premier facility and is home to the most passionate fanbase in the entire OHL.
During the 2025-26 season, the Otters averaged 4,063 fans per game.
Newly renovated for the 2025–26 season, the gym is located on the arena's lower level adjacent to the locker room. Construction is also underway on a new player lounge that will connect directly to the locker room. The lounge will provide a comfortable space for players to study, prepare meals, watch TV, and relax between practices and games.
